Mark C. Humphrey

Mark C. Humphrey is an intellectual property litigator whose practice centers on legal issues affecting the entertainment industry, with an emphasis on video games. Mark has represented some of the biggest game publishers and developers in the world, including Activision, Blizzard, Riot Games, Take-Two Interactive, Bungie and Ubisoft.

He regularly litigates and consults clients about various legal issues relating to copyright infringement, trade secret protection, trademark infringement and unfair competition, and violations of rights of publicity. Mark is particularly active in IP enforcement, with a specific focus on utilizing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act’s (DMCA) anti-circumvention provision to pursue individuals and groups who develop, distribute and sell cheating software designed to be used in competitive online multiplayer games.

Most recently, a great deal of Mark’s work has involved advising clients on legal matters pertaining to the burgeoning field of generative artificial intelligence (AI).
